HubSpot is constantly evolving. Every day the company releases major and minor updates to improve the platform. These new HubSpot features are based on valuable customer feedback and are intended to make the user experience even easier and better. Every month, Bright brings you up to date on the latest HubSpot updates. Here are the most important updates of the month of August!

(Featured) Update 1: New 'Home for marketers'

HubSpot releases big and small updates every day. Out of all these great updates, our editors have highlighted one for you. This is our featured product update; The new 'Home for marketers'.
Update_marketing_home

HubSpot has added many great new tools to the Hubs over time. While these updates are certainly useful, they can sometimes make the menus a bit cluttered. In recent months, HubSpot has added workspaces for its users. Based on your role & user rights, you can access your specific workspace. In this area, you'll find an overview of what needs to be done and the status of your tasks.

The newest workspace is called "Home for Marketers. As the Marketing Hub has received perhaps the most updates over time, this workspace helps you stay informed, prioritize tasks and focus without the chaos of switching between all sorts of tabs. From items you last worked on to upcoming deadlines, approvals and tasks, everything is now in one place. It's also worth noting that this space is available on HubSpot's mobile app, so you can stay connected wherever you are.

We've created a short walkthrough of this update, including a tip for making Home even more accessible. Watch the video to see how "Home for Marketers" can increase your team's productivity!

Update 2: Dynamic sequences

HubSpot is launching dynamic sequences. Unlike static sequences that treat all prospects the same, dynamic sequences prioritize automation upfront, creating manual tasks only for contacts that are engaged.

Sequences help you nurture your leads by automating sending emails and atomatically creating tasks. However, these sequences have always been static: that means everyone goes through them at the same pace and are completed automatically only when a lead responds to an email.

Last month, HubSpot launched "Dynamic Sequences" in Private Beta. Unlike static sequences that treat all prospects the same, these dynamic sequences prioritize automation upfront and only create manual tasks for contacts that engage.

This allows reps to focus on warmer leads, improving both efficiency and conversion rates.
A Dynamic Sequence consists of two paths:

  • A series of automated emails designed to warm up a lead
  • A series of manual tasks

The first path works the same way as a normal sequence, but consists solely of automated emails. The main difference is that engagement does not end the sequence, but instead moves the lead to the second path: the manual tasks. Once a potential customer has responded to your automated emails and warmed up, you can follow the series of manual steps you've set up to further engage with them.

Update 3: Two interesting updates in forms

Two cool updates to forms were recently released: multi-step forms and conditional logic in forms. Both updates focus on getting the right information and making it as easy as possible for your customers. We dive a little deeper into these updates in our blog!

Conditional logic in forms

We've seen several uses of conditional logic in the CRM. For example, you can create company properties for sector and subsector, displaying only the relevant subsector options based on the selected sector. It is now also possible to use conditional logic in your Web site forms. This ensures that visitors only see questions that are relevant to them, leading to higher completion rates.

multi-step forms

Sometimes it is necessary to add more fields to your form. To avoid this at the expense of your conversion rate, switching to a "multi-step form" may be a good option. Multi-Step forms break up long forms into manageable sections, giving respondents a sense of progress and encouraging them to complete the form further. According to HubSpot research, Multi-Step forms convert 86% better than regular forms. Previously, we had to customize multi-step forms in HubSpot, but now it is a standard feature. Check out this option and consider replacing your basic forms for better conversions!

Update 4: Sales Chrome extensions

HubSpot introduced a major update for the Sales Chrome extension. Our colleague Ruben recorded a short video to walk you through this update. In this four-minute video, he shows how you can now use the new extension to:

  • Add prospects to the CRM as you visit and browse their websites,
  • Recognize companies in your CRM based on the website you visit,
  • Start and log activities while visiting company websites. Activities such as sending emails, signing up for sequences and calling.
  • View and edit CRM records.

Everything is possible from anywhere on the Web, without having to switch browsers or screens to access your HubSpot portal. You can also exclude websites in the settings and prevent the extension from running on those sites. And as a bonus, ChatSpot is also available in the extension if you are active in the ChatSpot beta.

Update 5: Optimize marketing emails for mobile users

Update_mobile_emailWith this rollout, you as a marketer get the ability to hide modules and sections on both mobile devices and desktops. You can also change the layout and disable automatic column stacking on mobile devices.
